Macy – mixed breed – 2 yrs – female (43lbs)
Say hello to our sweet little mama, Macy! This little girl came to us all the way from San Felipe, Mexico where she was living on the streets along with her sister and companion, Jetta. While, as a rule, we do NOT take dogs from out of state, this was an exception we felt we needed to make. Both sisters were very pregnant and in danger of being euthanized. When a rescue reached out and asked us to help, we couldn’t say no. The two sisters made the long journey here and went straight to a foster where they were loved and cared for awaiting the arrival of the puppies. About a week after Macy’s arrival, she gave birth to EIGHT healthy puppies. She was a great mom and even accepted some help from her sister Jetta to care for them, something we have not had happen before. As soon as Macy was done caring for her pups she went to our shelter where she (and her sister) are doing great!
Macy is happy, healthy, and learning to trust people. She now realizes that humans can be kind and she seeks our attention. Macy and Jetta share a kennel and we find them talking and playing together when they think we’re not looking. 😊 Macy is looking for the first “real” home she’s ever had and we’re hoping she finds it very soon! While we do NOT normally place siblings or females together, in Macy and Jetta’s case we would love for them to be adopted together, although that is not a requirement. If you think our adorable bat-eared girl might be a good fit for you, please make it a point to meet her and hopefully make her yours!
