Jetta – mixed breed – 2 yrs – female (40lbs)
Please welcome our sweet little mama, Jetta! This little girl came to us all the way from San Felipe, Mexico where she was living on the streets along with her sister and companion Macy. While, as a rule, we do NOT take dogs from out of state, this was an exception we felt we needed to make. Both sisters were very pregnant and in danger of being euthanized. When a rescue reached out and asked us to help, we couldn’t say no. As soon as we met Jetta, we noticed that she had a severe eye injury that was infecting her entire face. She was taken straight to the vet, but because she was pregnant, we had to wait to treat it. So back to the foster home where she was loved and cared for while we waited for her to give birth. Six days after her sister gave birth, Jetta had TEN puppies! The two moms actually shared “mom-duty” which is something that has never happened with us before! After her babies were weaned, Jetta had her eye removed which made everything better. She is now happy, healthy and ready to start her new life!
Jetta has been great to have at our shelter. She’s polite, loving, and well behaved. Jetta is very sweet and loves attention. We know that once she gets in her new home, she’ll learn how to be a “real-dog” and experience all the fun things that her new family can offer. While we do NOT normally place siblings or females together, in Jetta and Macy’s case we would love for them to go together although that is not a requirement. They seem to have a bond that we definitely don’t see very often. If our sweet Jetta caught your eye, please complete an application and arrange to meet her!
